Opt-outs and STOP
What happens when someone asks to stop getting messages, and how they can start again.
Anyone can ask to stop hearing from Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center. The system respects this straight away, so you do not have to do anything.
How people opt out
- They reply STOP to a message.
- Or they open the public stop page, "Stop messages from Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center". They enter their number and we text them a code to confirm.
After this they no longer get WhatsApp or SMS messages from ABMTC, including broadcasts.
Where you see them
Open Contacts and tap the Opted out tab. Opted-out people also show as Opted out in the consent column.
What this means for you
- A broadcast skips them. The result shows "skipped (opted out or no consent)". See Send a broadcast.
- You cannot add an opted-out person again. You see "This person opted out of WhatsApp contact on ..., so they cannot be added."
- In an import, someone who opted out of one way stays opted out of it. See Import contacts from Excel or CSV.
Coming back
If the person later sends START, they are back in and receive messages again. Only they can do this. You cannot opt someone back in for them.
Important: Never ask someone to stay when they opted out.
