Contacts & groups
Groups
Make lists of people you can message together, such as a choir or an usher team.
A group is a list of people you can message together later. Making a group does not send anything.
Make a group
- Open Contacts and tap New group.
- Type the Name.
- Choose the Number it belongs to, if you have more than one.
- Tap Create group. You see "Group created".
Add people to a group
- On the All tab, tick the people you want.
- A bar appears at the bottom. Tap Add to group.
- Choose the group.
You can also tap the menu on one person's row and choose Add to group. When you add a new contact, you can tick groups in the same form.
See and change a group
- Open the Groups tab to see each group, its number and how many members it has.
- Tap a group to see its members.
- In a group, use the row menu and choose Remove from the group name, or tick people and tap Remove from group. They stay in your contacts.
- The group's menu has Send broadcast, Hand to telepastoring, Rename and Delete.
Deleting a group does not delete the people. Only the group is removed.
An empty group says "No one in this group yet". Go to All, tick people and choose Add to group.
What groups are for
- Send a message to everyone in a group. See Send a broadcast.
- Ask telepastoring to call a group. See Telepastoring hand-offs.
- Add a whole imported list to a group. See Import contacts from Excel or CSV.
