Change a number's WhatsApp display name

The display name is what people see for the number in WhatsApp. You change it from the number's channel in Assistants & channels.

Request a change

1. Open Assistants & channels and open the assistant.
2. Go to Channels, and find Display name under the number.
3. Type the new name in the Change name box and select Request. You will see "Name change requested".

Meta reviews the name, usually within a day. You can make 10 changes per 30 days.

Finish after approval

1. Come back to the same place once Meta approves.
2. Enter the 6-digit Two-step PIN for the number.
3. Select Apply new name. You must do this within 14 days of approval.

You will see "New name applied. Phones update over the next few hours."

Tip: Choose a name that matches your church or the pastor.
