Your WhatsApp profile picture and details
Change the picture, About line, description, email, websites and address people see when they open your WhatsApp number.
When someone opens your number in WhatsApp, they see a profile: a picture, a short About line and some contact details. You can change all of it yourself.
Find it
Open Settings and choose the WhatsApp profile tab. If you have more than one number, pick the one you want from the row of numbers at the top. Broadcasts members see the church's general numbers. Admins see every number.
Change the picture
Choose Change picture and pick a photo from your device. It must be a JPEG or PNG, up to 5 MB. Square pictures look best, because WhatsApp shows the picture in a circle. The picture changes as soon as the upload finishes.
Change the details
- About is the line shown under the name. It can't be empty.
- Description tells people what the number is for.
- Email, Website 1, Website 2 and Address are optional. Websites start with http:// or https://.
Each box shows how many characters you have used. Clear a box to remove that detail. The preview on the left updates as you type. Choose Save to send your changes to WhatsApp.
Changes show on phones within a few minutes.
If saving fails
The number must be registered with WhatsApp first. If it isn't, the message from Meta appears on screen. Ask an admin to finish registering the number, then try again.
