Alerts & your office line

Your office line

Message your own assistant from your WhatsApp to get reports, find chats and get things done.

Your office line is a chat between you and your assistant. You message it from your own WhatsApp number, and it helps you run things without opening the portal.

Before you start

  1. Link and verify your number under My WhatsApp number. See Alerts on your WhatsApp.
  2. Send a message to your assistant's WhatsApp number, or to the church's main number, from that verified number.

Messages from any other number are treated as ordinary chats. Only you, the owner or a delegate, get the office line.

What you can ask

  • A report of how your line went, and a list of what needs your attention, with urgent ones marked.
  • To find a conversation by a name or words used, or summarise one.
  • To pause the assistant on one chat so you can take over, or hand it back.
  • To draft a message to someone.
  • To save a contact, or look people up.
  • To create, list and close tasks. See Tasks.
  • To see free times, and book, move or cancel appointments, or answer a request. See Appointments.
  • To set or cancel a report or reminder. See Reports and reminders.
  • To hand people to telepastoring. See Hand people to telepastoring.
  • To suggest a change to how your assistant speaks or what it knows. See Train on WhatsApp.

Say YES to confirm

When something will change or send a message, your assistant first tells you what it will do. It acts only after you reply YES. If it is not what you meant, do not reply YES. Just say what you want instead.

Tip: Write as you would to a person, for example "Who needs me today?"

Important: Never share your phone with someone else while you are linked. Anyone using your number can ask for these things.
