Troubleshooting

Template problems

Fix templates that Meta rejects, is still reviewing or won't let you delete.

Templates are messages Meta must approve before they can be sent outside the 24-hour window. This guide is for pastors and admins.

Check these first

"Meta rejected this: "

Who can fix it: the pastor of the line or an admin. Read the reason, edit the template and send it again. Common causes are below. See Fix a rejected template.

The wording is the same as another template

Change the wording so it is clearly different from your other templates.

Too few fixed words around a fill-in

Each fill-in such as {{1}} needs enough ordinary words around it. Add more fixed wording.

A fill-in at the start or end

The message cannot begin or end with a fill-in. Add words before or after it. See Template rules.

Use the full link, not a shortened one.

"Upload an image as the example for Meta." or "Upload a video as the example for Meta."

Add the example file Meta asks for, then submit again. See Prepare a template.

"It scored N%, below the N% needed. Edit it and check again."

The approval score is below the score needed. Use the reasons and fixes to edit the template, then submit it again. Only an admin can send it anyway.

"The template changed since it was checked. Check it again."

Any change after a check needs a new check. Select Submit to Meta again.

"Meta is reviewing this…"

Wait. Reviews can take a while. Admins can select Check Meta for updates to refresh the status.

"The app uses this template, so it can't be deleted."

Some templates are needed by the app itself. See Templates used by the app.

Tip: Only approved templates can be used in broadcasts, so fix rejections before you plan a send.
